Amadeus Innovates To Empower Indian Travel Consultants With Unmatched Range Of Solutions

Jaipur, September 4, 2009: Amadeus India, today, introduced a comprehensive range of software products and automated solutions that will significantly enhance the value offered by travel consultants across India. The new range of travel solutions will be delivered through the Amadeus GDS platform and will provide access to products from over 790 airlines, 262 hotel chains accounting for over 82000 properties and over 30 international car rental companies. In addition, the new range of solutions being introduced includes booking of Indian Rail tickets, a comprehensive self-booking tool for corporates & TMCs and a state of the art automated back-office system.

Rajasthan is considered as the tourism capital of the nation witnessing almost 15 million travellers, annually. With 1/3rd of foreign tourists visiting India travelling to Rajasthan and the new International airport being planned at Manhorpur on the Jaipur – Delhi highway, the growth rate of the State’s tourism industry is being estimated at 5% from foreign and 7% from domestic travellers. Moreover, there is high demand for hotel accommodation which will be fulfilled by 10 upcoming five star hotels planned for the region by 2011. Amadeus has over 150 active travel agents in Rajasthan, capturing over 65% of the market share in the region, using their platform for booking tickets and expects to increase over the next six months to tap the expected growth in the market. In addition to this, the company also expects Amadeus Rail to provide significant growth, as a large set of consumers in smaller towns and cities in Rajasthan do not have credit cards or internet access to book tickets directly and prefer to travel by Rail.

Apart from providing the largest network of airlines and hotels, Amadeus GDS has further leveraged technology to enable travel consultants to book Net Rates through the Hotel Store Locator, provide a unique travel insurance solution and introduce a complete Graphic User Interface (GUI) solution for the Consolidator and Sub-agency Business that helps increase efficiency and time.

The new offerings in the product basket include solutions such as the Amadeus Fare solutions, Amadeus Ticket Changer, Traveltainment, Custom Desktop, AQC, Activities & Entertainment, CRM, Campaign Management, Call Centre Solution, Amadeus Scripting Solution, Amadeus services in the Non-Air world and Amadeus Rail.
